N. Murray Edwards

Chairman

Mr. Edwards is an investor and corporate director. Prior to December 2015, he was the President of Edco Financial Holdings Ltd, a private management and consulting company. Mr. Edwards is currently a Director and Chairman of Canadian Natural Resources Limited, publicly traded company and one of the largest independent crude oil and natural gas producers in the world. He is also a Director and Chairman of Magellan Aerospace Corporation, also a publicly traded company. Mr. Edwards has a B.Comm. from the University of Saskatchewan (Great Distinction) and an LL.B. (Honours) from the University of Toronto.

Robert H. Geddes

President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Geddes has been with Ensign since 1991 and is currently the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Corporation, a position he has held since January 1, 2007. He has acted as Vice President Canadian Drilling from 1999 to 2004 and President Canadian Operations from 2004 to December 31, 2006. He is a past President of the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC), and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geophysicists and Geologists of Alberta (APEGGA). He holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta.

Mike Gray

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Gray joined Ensign as Corporate Controller in 2015 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer effective October 2016. Mr. Gray obtained his B.Comm (Distinction) and Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan, and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta. Prior to joining Ensign, Mr. Gray spent the majority of his career with a multinational professional service network before moving onto a mid-size energy services company where he held the position of Corporate Controller.

Tom Connors

Executive Vice President Canadian Operations

Mr. Connors joined Ensign in September of 2003 and currently holds the position of Executive Vice President of Canadian Operations. Prior to joining Ensign, Mr. Connors was President of a Northern development company and was active in pipeline activity and discussions and held an active career in banking/finance in Toronto prior to that time. Mr. Connors was initially involved with acquiring and building Ensign’s Canadian Coring business along with other service lines such as trucking and camps and has more recently has been responsible for the acquisition and continued growth of the Canadian Directional Drilling business. He is currently responsible for overseeing all Canadian Operations which include: Drilling, Coring, Well Servicing, Managed Pressure, Directional Drilling, Production Testing and Rentals in the Canadian business unit. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree with a minor in Commerce from Memorial University in 1993 and went onto complete his Master of Business Administration in 1996 from Queen’s University.

Edward D. Kautz

President - U.S. Operations

Mr. Kautz has a degree in Mechanical Engineering (1976) from Colorado State University, and he attended the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. He has 40 years of experience in the oil and natural gas service industry. Mr. Kautz has served on the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) Executive Committee and is a past chairman of IADC. Mr. Kautz worked at Exeter Drilling from 1976 to 1996, where he served as President from 1992 to 1996. He joined Ensign in 1996 to lead the company’s United States operations, and in 2004, he moved to Calgary, Alberta, to assume the position of Executive Vice President United States and International Operations, a position he held until 2014. Mr. Kautz is now the President United States Operations and oversees Ensign’s Engineering and Rig Manufacturing division. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and sits on IADC’s Board of Directors.

Brage Johannessen

Executive Vice President International

Mr. Johannessen joined Ensign in November, 2014 and is responsible for Ensign’s growing international operations in Australia, the Middle East and North Africa. Mr. Johannessen holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering (1990) from West Virginia University and has extensive oil and gas industry experience in Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region. He started his career as a drilling engineer for a large Norwegian oil and gas operator, and he has held various senior executive positions at a large, global oilfield service company.

Michael Nuss

Executive Vice President U.S. & Latin America Operations

Mr. Nuss began his career with Ensign in 1994 and currently holds the position of Executive Vice President U.S. & Latin America Operations. Prior to his current role, he acted as the General Manager of Business Development for Ensign’s U.S. operations from 1995 to 2003, Area Manager from 2003 to 2006, Vice President of Latin America from 2006 to 2011, and Vice President of U.S. and Latin America from 2011 to 2016. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Business & Finance from the University of Wyoming, Mr. Nuss began work with Amoco Production Co. holding various operational roles for 7 years. He started his own drilling company out of the Denver Basin in Colorado in 1987, which was acquired by a larger American oilfield service company in 1991. He is a past member of the IADC Executive Committee and held the position of Regional Vice President for the organization from 2000 to 2005.
