N. Murray Edwards


Mr. Edwards is an investor and corporate director. Prior to December 2015, he was the President of Edco Financial Holdings Ltd, a private management and consulting company. Mr. Edwards is currently a Director and Chairman of Canadian Natural Resources Limited, publicly traded company and one of the largest independent crude oil and natural gas producers in the world. He is also a Director and Chairman of Magellan Aerospace Corporation, also a publicly traded company. Mr. Edwards has a B.Comm. from the University of Saskatchewan (Great Distinction) and an LL.B. (Honours) from the University of Toronto.

Robert H. Geddes

President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Geddes has been with Ensign since 1991 and is currently the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Corporation, a position he has held since January 1, 2007. He has acted as Vice President Canadian Drilling from 1999 to 2004 and President Canadian Operations from 2004 to December 31, 2006. He is a past President of the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC), and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geophysicists and Geologists of Alberta (APEGGA). He holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta.

Mike Gray

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Gray joined Ensign as Corporate Controller in 2015 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer effective October 2016. Mr. Gray obtained his B.Comm (Distinction) and Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan, and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta. Prior to joining Ensign, Mr. Gray spent the majority of his career with a multinational professional service network before moving onto a mid-size energy services company where he held the position of Corporate Controller.

Tom Connors

EVP - Canada/International East Operations

Mr. Connors joined Ensign in September of 2003 and currently holds the position of Executive Vice President of Canadian and International East Operations. Prior to joining Ensign, Mr. Connors was President of a Northern development company and was active in pipeline activity and discussions and held an active career in banking/finance in Toronto prior to that time.He is currently responsible for overseeing all Canadian Operations which include: Drilling, Coring, Well Servicing, Managed Pressure, Directional Drilling, Production Testing and Rentals in the Canadian business unit. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree with a minor in Commerce from Memorial University in 1993 and went onto complete his Master of Business Administration in 1996 from Queen’s University.

Edward D. Kautz

President - U.S. Operations

Mr. Kautz has a degree in Mechanical Engineering (1976) from Colorado State University, and he attended the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. He has 40 years of experience in the oil and natural gas service industry. Mr. Kautz has served on the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) Executive Committee and is a past chairman of IADC. Mr. Kautz is now the President United States Operations and oversees Ensign’s Engineering and Rig Manufacturing division. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and sits on IADC’s Board of Directors.

Michael Nuss

Executive Vice President U.S. & Latin America Operations

Mr. Nuss began his career with Ensign in 1994 and currently holds the position of Executive Vice President U.S. & Latin America Operations. Prior to his current role, he acted as the General Manager of Business Development for Ensign’s U.S. operations from 1995 to 2003, Area Manager from 2003 to 2006, Vice President of Latin America from 2006 to 2011, and Vice President of U.S. and Latin America from 2011 to 2016. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Business & Finance from the University of Wyoming, Mr. Nuss began work with Amoco Production Co. holding various operational roles for 7 years. He is a past member of the IADC Executive Committee and held the position of Regional Vice President for the organization from 2000 to 2005.
